Sept. 21, 2018 – PR Consulting Dentsu was chosen from a field of five finalists as North Asia PR Consultancy of the Year at the 2018 Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards, held September 11 in Singapore by PR-industry journal the Holmes Report.
The accolade, which recognizes outstanding work by PR agencies in Japan and South Korea, is based on an exhaustive research process including direct meetings with firms from across the region. PR Consulting Dentsu won recognition for consistently providing original, creative messaging solutions for a diverse client portfolio comprising both multinational and domestic businesses and social enterprises, as well as numerous official bodies.
The award is the culmination of another stellar 12 months which saw PR Consulting Dentsu release the eighth edition of Communicating: A Guide to PR in Japan, the only English-language resource of its kind, and achieve an impressive number of nominations at international PR competitions. In addition to the SABRE Awards, these included the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, and PR Awards Asia.
There were particular plaudits for a series of initiatives that sought to challenge Japanese society’s often rigid approach to gender roles. Two campaigns picked up multiple awards by leveraging survey data and online content in distinctive ways to promote the topic of housework equality: “Nameless Chores,” a campaign for leading Japanese home builder Daiwa House Industry; and “Changing Housework from a JOB to JOY,” operated for Procter & Gamble Japan.
