TOKYO, July 20, 2021 – Dentsu Public Relations will be rebranding as PR Consulting Dentsu Inc. on its 60th anniversary on September 20, 2021, in an effort to emphasize its position as a comprehensive communications consultancy and increase investment in research of its internal think tank, the Corporate Communication Strategic Studies Institute (CSI).

President and CEO Masahiro Makiguchi said the rebranding reflects the company’s shift from focusing primarily on traditional PR to covering all paid, earned, shared, and owned media types.

“We have been providing consulting in a narrow sense for long time, offering services such as risk consulting and media training. Although we will keep public relations at our core, we hope to demonstrate that our capabilities range beyond PR by changing our company name,” added Makiguchi.

Dentsu Public Relations has been making efforts to bolster its consulting service lineup over the past decade. The company established its in-house think tank in 2013, and has since been conducting surveys and research to deliver market insight to its clients. In 2019, the company joined the Chairman’s Council of U.S.-based think tank The National Bureau of Asian Research to enhance its public affairs capabilities in the field of U.S. and Japan policy.
