Dentsu Public Relations Inc. President & CEO Kazunori Azeyanagi has been selected to receive a 2020 PRO PR Globe Award at the upcoming PRO PR Conference set for Podčetrtek, Slovenia in March, organized by Croatia-headquartered agency, Apriori World.

The 63-year old public relations executive is the first Japanese PR professional to receive a PRO PR Globe Award since these were introduced eight years ago.
The awards recognize the efforts of individuals who, through their work, contribute to a better perception and positioning of the public relations profession.

Among previous Globe Award winners are Patrick Harrison, former press secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales, Christian Spahr, coordinating spokesperson for economic affairs at the European Commission, and Oleg Rumyantsev, CEO of the Russian Olympic Committee Council of Assistance.

This year’s awards ceremony to be held on March 20 will celebrate the achievements of 24 PR practitioners from around the world including Carlos Chaguaceda, communications director of the Spanish art museum Museo del Prado in Madrid, and Olivera Djukanović, head of the office for public relations of the Government of Montenegro and advisor to Montenegro’s prime minister.

Also from Japan, chairman & CEO of Inoue Public Relations, Takashi Inoue, received this year’s PRO PR INFIGO Award, which commemorates lifetime achievement.

The PRO PR Awards were inaugurated in 2012 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the annual PRO PR Conference, conceived to encourage active communication among public relations experts from South-East and Central Europe.

This year for the first time too, nominations were received from major international PR organizations, namely the Chartered Institute of Public Relations,
the Public Relations and Communications Association, the International Communications Consultancy Organization, and the International Public Relations Association.

The PRO PR Awards recognize professionals in the following four categories.

  1. PRO PR Globe Awards (awarded to leaders of organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to the PR industry)

 For individuals from PR who through their proactive work, have ethically promoted the profession of public relations.

  1. PRO PR Vision City Award (awarded to a city)

 For one city of the host country of the PRO PR conference.

  1. PRO PR Vision Manager Awards (awarded to project leaders)

 For executives of organizations which manage projects that cultivate markets for new products or services or contribute to national interests.

  1. PRO PR INFIGO AWARDS (lifetime achievement award)

 For individuals who are creative and are guided by high ethical standards or who have contributed to the recognition of the PR profession through their projects.

The awards ceremony will be held on March 20, 2020 at the 18th PRO PR Conference in Podčetrtek, Slovenia. The PRO PR Conference is specific in that it is held annually in a southeastern European country, generally at a different location each year.

PRO PR Conference

PRO PR Conference is an international conference on PR and communication management first held in 2002 and organized by Apiori World (http://www.aprioriworld.com/?lang=en).

The 2020 conference, to take place in Slovenia from March 18 to 21, will feature a program of 24 presentations by speakers from 11 countries and is expected to attract around 200 participants.
